City Market

Strolled around the City Market since we were up and out so early for the balloon show.

Sunday

Sunday morning everyone got up extra early so that we could make it to Celebration Park in time to see a 6:30 am hot air balloon launch. It was a competition in which the balloonists tried to come closest to hitting a target on the field in front of us with a flag thrown from the balloon. We decided it was sort of like a hot air balloon Mardi Gras. :)

There is something very beautiful and peaceful about these things. And it really seems like such a Kansas thing to me ever since I first saw Dorothy trying to get home in one on The Wizard of Oz. So glad we got to share this experience with Cook and Pop!

Grandparents in Town!

The kids have been SO EXCITED about their grandparents coming to town for a visit. They could hardly stand the wait yesterday knowing they were on their way. :)

We're having a wonderful time with them!

Last! Day! of School!!

I don't think we could've asked for things to go better this school year. New home, new city, awesome new schools, and wonderful new friends. All the girls worked hard and had incredible school years with glowing report cards to prove it.

However, there is something just sooooo exciting about that last day before summer vacation begins!

Here is Alaire on her last day (one with Mrs. R, her kindergarten teacher)

and then Maren, Ali (our neighbor, but I'd take her as my own), and Ramsey on their last day.

Gorgeous Weekend

Spent all day Saturday sitting outside in the warmth and sunshine and letting the kids play, play, play!! Finished off the weekend with a cookout with neighbors right smack on our street! I pray that I never, ever take for granted the simple joys in everyday life.

Growing and Growing

Earlier this week Paw Paw Gary asked how things were looking in our garden. I have taken that as a request for garden photos! Yesterday we did some companion planting by having the kids add in marigolds.
