First Ever Piano Recital for Our Girls!

Ramsey and Maren both began piano lessons for the first time ever when we moved here. They have the sweetest, most wonderful piano teacher in the world, Miss Melissa, and we all love her. The first semester has now come to a close, and this weekend was their recital. Accompanied duet-style by their teacher, each of the girls gave an outstanding performance and made us sooo proud. Aaron said although he's heard them practicing these songs nonstop to the point that we'd hear the songs in our sleep, something about seeing them and hearing them today got him all weepy and choked up. And guess what, the same thing happened to me!

Yep, It's the Middle of December...

And today we had ourselves one very fun beach day, complete with swimsuits and playing in the water! What is not to love about Florida?!

Aaron took his second to last final today and came home ready for a beach trip. We packed Alaire and Curran up and headed out there where we joined Aaron's friends Charlie and Tyler and their families.

The weather was perfect, the sun so bright and shiny, and the water was pretty chilly but easy enough to get adjusted to. Alaire came home tonight with a mid-July tan. :)

So when it was about time to run home to get Ramsey and Maren from school, I left Aaron there with the babies and his friends. Got the girls all suited up for a little more fun in the sun, but by the time we got back (around 3:00) the thickest blanket of fog had rolled in at the beach. It was fog so dense that Ramsey's and Maren's hair, and mine too I'm sure, was wet within minutes of getting out of the car. And I could taste the saltwater on my lips. Not nearly the same fun we'd had earlier in the afternoon, so we cut it short and promised the big girls another trip very soon.

Overall one amazingly fun day for this family!

Backyard Adventures

Our neighbors just moved and gave us this fabulous Little Tikes playset! I cannot thank them enough. It is just perfect!

Aunt Becki treated all the girls to some fun squeezable paint sets a little while back, so of course I dedicate this post as a thank you to Aunt Beck. They love creating all sorts of colorful paintings with them!

Ramsey and Maren are so darn cute in their YMCA cheerleader uniforms! This weekend they got to get all gussied up in them and ride in the downtown Christmas parade!

A terrible shot, but you can see Ramsey waving... Maren's pom is partially covering her face, so you can't really see her.
