It is almost unbelievable that so much snow came at such a perfect time for us! Tons of snow + 2 weeks with no school + cousins in town = happy cajun cuties!! We've taken them sledding three days straight! Choosing a few good pictures to post would require far too much effort, so I am posting the slideshow I made to send to the grandparents back home who weren't able to get away to see this live and in person. There are some treasures in this album that I know are sure to become some all-time favorites of mine. :) We are making some happy lifelong family memories here...

Peekshner Reunion
As a really special gift to all the cousins, Aunt Bec, Jack, Ana, and Charlie flew from New Orleans to Kansas City to spend a few days of winter break with us! We haven't been together in 6 months, so there was so much excitement. And of course my 4 cajun cuties knew nothing of this until the moment they discovered them at our front door. Ramsey is actually on the phone with Jack as he's walking up our sidewalk, and he's telling her things about how hot it is in New Orleans and how cool it'd be if he could be in Kansas to play in the snow with us, and then suddenly our doorbell rings. And this is what happens next...

Our White Christmas
My kids never asked for one thing for Christmas. They always draw a blank when asked what they want, and they are known for loving just being surprised.
But secretly, they must've been wishing and praying really hard for a white Kansas Christmas! Someone sure ordered a whole lot of snow for Kansas City this Christmas!
Yesterday I posted pictures of the Christmas gift opening. There was a lot of that going on and a lot of enjoying the new toys and games throughout the day. But here is another glimpse into what Christmas Day was for us!

We have gotten snow Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, all day yesterday (26th), and I woke to snow falling again this morning! None of us have been in a car or out of our own yard since arriving home from Christmas Eve mass Thursday evening! I believe they're saying this is the first big blizzard here in 20 years! So I'm pretty sure my cajun babies' prayers were answered! :)

Wishing You a Joyful Christmas

My family had a beautiful Christmas. We kept Jesus close in our thoughts and in our hearts and our home was overflowing with a glory-filled Christmas spirit. We enjoyed lots of fun, lots of gifts, lots of snow, and an unbelievable about of love. I could only hope all the same for all my friends and family. Merry Christmas from our home to yours.
