Almost the Same Size
Sweet Miss Kelly in San Diego said it looks as though Curran is catching up to Alaire in size. She's right! He's quickly gaining on her!

Roar!
Inspired by his sweatshirt, Curran pretends to be a dinosaur on his swing! Thanks to Kim and Alex for so many adorable fall clothes that Curran has grown into and is loving this year!

The Big Mean Boo Boo
6 days ago Curran had a little accident. It involved a game in which he charged at Alaire and rammed into her belly with his head. But one time, Alaire jumped out of the way, and Curran charged with all his might headfirst into the corner of the footboard of my bed. A little over an inch of his forehead was split, and I nearly fainted. I managed to situate him and myself in a rocking chair while holding a wet towel firmly on his forehead. I somehow remembered to continue breathing, and I called Aaron for help in remaining calm and deciding what to do next. He forced me to actually LOOK at the cut to determine if it was something he needed to leave work to come home to tend to, and I determined it was. Aaron came home and decided he'd try treating him at home, but if the bleeding didn't stop we'd take him in to get stitched up. I couldn't watch him patch my baby boy up because immediately when he got home I had to run out of the room and allow myself to fall apart!
Evidently he did a remarkable job of cleaning and closing the wound up with steri-strips. A bandage he covered it all up with was changed a couple times over the next few days, and by the 4th day Aaron removed everything. Underneath was a really thin, all closed up, clean-looking cut about an inch and a quarter long. It was the first time I looked at it since it happened, and I was amazed at how much it had healed in those few days. I am so thankful to have a skilled and calm, level-headed husband to rescue me in these times of emergency! And although my little fella will no doubt keep a souvenir scar of the event, I think his daddy did an amazing job of taking care of the booboo in order to minimize that scar. Being the humble guy he is, he told Curran it was all better so fast because Mommy had taken such good care of him right away when it first happened. Very sweet, but um, no. :) Mommy would still be sitting in that rocking chair 6 days later applying pressure and afraid to look at it to see how bad it really is.
So there have been no new pictures this week, have there? My friend Lisa gently nudged me last night when I saw her, reminding me that she checks everyday and hadn't found anything new. Thanks for the reminder Lisa! I've been too busy overprotecting my kids and making sure they aren't having so much fun that an injury could result from their games. That and the fact that I didn't have the heart to aim a camera in Curran's direction for nearly a week. Now we're down to this one hardly noticeable bandage, and if you look really closely you can slightly see the thin line of the cut below it, but at quick glance you may not even realize there's a thing wrong with the cutie pie.

Weirdness
Don't ask. LOL Just plain weirdness. Ramsey and Maren have these weird ball-things that light up and strobe and change colors. One night I played with my camera while they played with those balls, and we took a bunch of goofy pictures. They were particularly pleased with their ability to make their initials with them and my ability to freeze time to capture them.

Relaxing on the River
We spent another awesome weekend at the river. We enjoyed fishing, hiking, baking, eating, making puzzles, making artwork, and just spending a lot of peaceful time with our family.
