Daddy's Sidekick
Maren was so eager to help Daddy today with a few little projects he was working on. While all the other kids played and played with the neighbors, Maren and Aaron put up a little fence around the garden to hopefully keep the bunnies from eating all our potential vegetables. Doesn't she look terribly proud of her grimy little hands?!

Alaire on a Bike as Happy as Can Be...
Where are you going Alaire? Please wait for me!

But here's our girl riding on two wheels! Such a big, big girl now!

The Girls on Bikes
A few weeks ago we decided that all our girlies needed new bikes to ride around in our fun new neighborhood. We got Ramsey and Alaire theirs that very day, but the shop had to order Maren's. What was supposed to take about 5 days ended up taking over two weeks! She was very patient about it and says to get the size she needed and color she wanted was worth the wait in the end.

Starting a Small Autumn Garden
We've been planning and composting since we moved into this house for a garden project to get underway during Aaron's few weeks off. Friday was his last final for his first trimester, and Saturday we dug up our two rows.

The kids loved playing in the dirt, playing with worms, and riding in the wheelbarrow. Didn't get a lot of cute pictures I would've liked to because... well, Aaron actually had me working out there. :)
Sunday we planted the seeds. If we can keep the bunnies, moles, and groundhogs away, we may end up with some lettuce, beets, and carrots in a few months! Should be interesting!

And Now Our Baby Girl Goes to Kindergarten!
I feel so blessed to have moved into a school district with half-day kindergarten. Because it's only morning kindergarten, I am not the complete mess that I could be about my adorable baby girl growing up and testing out her little wings. She is so happy and so excited about going to school, it would be a real bummer to have her mother crying and carrying on with all that sadness. :) So I am also very happy and very excited for her, and I will continue on with this blissful denial about her growing up until a year from now when she leaves all day for first grade!
Yeah, yeah... I am going totally overboard with way too many pictures here, but so far no one has voiced any complaints to me about posting too many photos, and I know a bunch of grandmas and aunts who would've been here in person for the excitement if they could've. And besides that, I had such a cooperative little supermodel!

At orientation, the children were asked to bring a teddy bear to school on the first day of school for a teddy bear picnic. Alaire chose Buttercup from her Nanny.

Her cute and still practically brand new backpack stayed behind in a bunch of stuff at MeMoe's house when we moved, so here you see her sporting a cheap replacement to get her by!

Everyone was SO excited about her big day! Again there was no walking to school because of the thunderstorm we had going on this morning. So here they all are piled together just before we hopped into the car to head to school.

And how cute is it that Alaire chose her outfit and Ramsey chose her outfit, and neither knew the other would be wearing a matching shirt?!

By dismissal time, the weather had cleared up, so we were able to walk over to pick her up. Here are a few photos of her--still smiling after a fun day. Her teacher, Mrs. R. is behind her in orange.

Curran was happy to get his buddy back. :)

So whaddaya think? Excited much??
