Snuggles
My parents came out mid-December for a pre-Christmas visit! There was a lot of this (beignets and snuggles) going on during that week!

December Happenings
December was quite a neglected month on my blog. Part of my excuse is just my own busy-ness with things happening with and for the kids. But a lot of it has to do with how much time Aaron has to spend sitting at my blogging spot studying for finals in December. I think I'm back in business now!
This is an event Ramsey volunteers to help out with... and her little sisters and brother get to participate in the fun part!

Maren's Christmas Concert
The first segment is a song from Maren's hand chimes choir (she's 5th from the right--the second girl to start chiming), and the second segment is from her orchestra concert on the same day (2nd from left in the dark orange shirt). I just love the sounds of kids learning to play music. Reminds me so much of my own old band days at Lacache Middle!
Chimes with Daddy
Maren's music teacher gave a private concert to the families of each of her music classes, and Aaron got to take a turn at playing in the hand chimes choir. It is too cute to watch him struggling through and trying to keep up!

Family for Thanksgiving

This could alternately be titled Giving Thanks for Family!
My sister and brother-in-law, Kristi and Darren, packed up their family for a Thanksgiving vacation this year, and a visit to see us at our home in Kansas was their ultimate destination!

Before making their way here, they stopped to spend a few days in Branson, Missouri, where we happily met them, allowing all the kids to make some fun Silver Dollar City memories with their cousins. Uncle Kevin (who is actually Darren's brother but now lives in Kansas City near us and has been adopted by my kids as their very own uncle) made the drive down with the kids and me which I really appreciated since Aaron had to work that weekend and couldn't come along. :(

After two very fun-filled amusement park days, we trekked our way back home, and then the following day the others made their way out to spend some of Thanksgiving week with us. All the big cousins had the pleasure of seeing the newest Harry Potter movie together--quite a treat--while Kristi and I took the younger four to do kid stuff at Crown Center.

Some cold, windy days didn't stop the kids from wanting to play outside, and they had a ball biking and skateboarding, swinging, and playing in the leaves.

On Thanksgiving Day we had a nontraditional but delicious turkey gumbo by Chef Aaron to compliment that rare nationally televised Saints game...almost felt like home sweet Houma! We wrapped up that day with a lot of pie and some great family movies late into the night, and there were more reasons to be thankful than I could ever count.

One more cute shot, but it feels incomplete with Baby Rori missing! Wish she and her parents and her MeMoe and Paw could've joined us in this fun week!

We were sad to say goodbye but so happy to have had this fabulous week together. Love you guys SO much!
